I have been dating this amazing man for a year now and I am so happy with him. But I met his mom and it was a really uncomfortable/ awkward moment for me. Right off she was giving me weird vibes and she mentioned my weight which is my biggest insecurity, she kept saying my son will never stop being my baby and when my bf went to show me where the restroom was she followed. Every time we went somewhere in the house she followed and listened in. We couldn’t sit together in the living room or anywhere really because of her. Idk if I’m just overreacting (he’s my first boyfriend) or if she’s out of her lane. I would really appreciate some advice.

I do want to add I am not her biggest fan because she makes my boyfriend pay for everything because her husband is currently out of the country. She doesn’t work even though she can and she made him leave school when he had a year left finish up his degree. She also took a trip out of the country and made my BFF pay for everything trip wise and he’s in charge of all house and utility payments. Please help.
