My baby is almost 5 months old. He’s been sleeping through the night since before he was 2 months and every day around 5/6 am (sometimes earlier) I wake up because my breasts are in pain!! I was told this would stop after my milk supply is established but it hasn’t. Is this normal? I read that your body is supposed to make milk based off of memory... so if he’s not eating all night, why do I keep making so much milk? Sometimes he will eat once during the night and every once in a while twice but he mostly sleeps through the night. He wakes around 7:30 am to eat. I’ve just been hand expressing until I feel more comfortable... sometimes I don’t and if I can wait til he eats he can’t get a good latch bc of how rock hard my breasts are and ends up hurting my nipple.

Advice would be greatly appreciated!
