My bf has been on my back about including his family in my pregnancy. So I reached out to his mom in regards to when my baby shower begins to be planned. And her response is that she and his sister are already planning HIM his own baby shower...I’m offended and feel as though I’m being excluded from my own pregnancy... it’s not fair I can be excluded but not him. Why can’t we celebrate OUR child at one combined function. So our families can integrate...

It’s actually hard to include them as much as your own family especially when you’re close w| YOUR FAMILY!! But she probably said that b|c she doesn’t feel included & want to do something for her son b|c she feel like you’re taking over the planning... 
I am a first time mom & I am seeing how different things are becoming between me & my in-law now that I am pregnant. Like with me, it’s not that I am intentionally not including her in information... but it’s HIS BABY TOO so I feel like it’s my boyfriend’s responsibility to keep his family updated!

I woukd have your boyfriend tell his mom you guys want one shower together so it can be a memorable experience for both of you. Otherwise you guys will not enjoy it as much as you would think. This happened with my sister. And neither were happy afterword and caused alot of tention between them at would should have been a happy time

I’d communicate to your man about how you feel. Maybe he can talk some sense into his mother. 
Then you should go on with planning your shower with whomever you please.

I have never heard of throwing a baby shower for just the father. A diaper party, yes, but a baby shower? That is straight up bananapants and I think everyone on that guest list will be like, "wtf?"

Only way this would even makes sense is if your families do not live in the same area. For example my boyfriend and I went through a short breakup not too long ago and decided we’d do two separate showers. Since we got back together we still want to do two showers because my whole family lives almost two hours away. Yet where we are it’s just his family and my mom and two siblings. It wouldn’t make sense to want them to drive so far. BUT anyone from either family is still invited to the others shower. I’m attending his and he’s attending mine. But if both families live near each other then it’s bullshit to do two separate showers. And it’s not even her right to be planning shit. Its not her child, the most she should’ve did was ask if y’all wanted two separate showers or a shower together. And your boyfriend should’ve been told you that she was planning one because there’s no way in hell he was oblivious to it.

This baby should be bringing your families together and it sound like the opposite. Using a pregnancy to drive wedges is rediculous. It happened to me with my shower for my son. My hubby's whole family didn't go, so it was only me my bff and my mom and her bff. I was so hurt. All his family went to the diaper party for guys only I threw him at the same time as my baby shower cause they felt like crap for not going to mine. It still hurts to this day. 
If your man won't step up to his mom, I def would let her know that how you feel. That this is y'all's baby and you were trying to include her on the baby shower. If she still is gonna throw her own baby shower for him, let her look silly when they're all wondering where the mom to be is... Oh it's for my son.... Not the momma.... LMAO. Girl bye. But from experience don't let it sit there and fester. Eff her then. Scoop up the extra gifts and have a Happy fun baby shower for you with your family and friends.
