Long-time OC user with PCOS now trying to conceive!!

Megan

Hey all!

I'm new to the Glow thing, and I wanted to get everyone's opinions on PCOS/ irregular period management with BC pills. I was diagnosed with PCOS over 13 years ago, and have been on the pill ever since. And since my periods were irregular, I don't know when my normal cycle is! Well, now that I'm married, my husband & I recently decided to try for a baby. So I stopped my pills 3 weeks ago today...and I still haven't had a period. My OB-GYN said I'd be the most fertile in the first 1-3 months after stopping the pill, but having yet to start my period worries me - is my PCOS the reason, or is it just because I was on the pill for so long? I am overweight, but am in good health otherwise.

I thought about doing a pill reset - take a few days of 2-3 pills, then stopping them to see if that would jump start a period - but I don't want to delay my chances for conceiving if I don't need to. I also read here on this app that feeling your cervix is a good way to tell if you're ovulating (soft like lips means ovulating, hard like nose means not) - any thoughts on that method of checking?? I bought ovulation pee sticks, but don't wanna blow through them since I don't have any idea when my cycle even is!!

Does anybody have the same problems I do, or am I all alone out here?! I'd love some friendly advice for people who either know about this kind of thing, or who have been down this same road themselves!

Thanks in advance - Megan :)
