How long did your baby sleep in a crib?

I'm trying to figure out what to do with baby number 2. We are pretty sure baby number 2 will be a girl also, so now I'm thinking maybe they should share a room. However, it's not huge. A twin bed would fit...but I would lose my rocking chair 😕. Also, my daughter will only be 2 when the baby comes. Her crib converts to a toddler bed with a rail so I'm thinking maybe getting another crib would just be easier and save on space. What would you do?

My daughter will be 3 next month and still in her crib. I'm only changing her bed to a toddler once I can't lift her in it anymore. I love that the crib keeps her contained, she doesn't try to get out.

My daughter got switched to a bed with half a rail the day she climbed out of her crib .. no point on having high crib rails of they will just climb out and end up possibly hurting themself on the way down

My sons both moved to a low toddler bed at about a year and a half... They Loved it! It's low against the ground so I wasn't scared of them rolling out of the bed in the middle of the night and it was easier when potty training because they can easily get out if bed and go potty.... Good Luck!

28 months and still happily sleeping in her crib. I'll keep her in until she climbs out or asks for a big girl bed. No point in changing what works and what she's comfortable with.

I too will have a 2 year old when my 2nd one is born. My daughter has been doing really well on potty training so we decided to give her her big girl bed early ( it's a crib to toddler bed as well). Now I plan to have them share a room if I can't get a bigger apartment before number 2 is born. Just going to get another crib, so she doesn't feel like she's having to give up her bed for the new baby.

I was an older sibling and remember how hard it was when the new baby came around. I'm trying my best to have as little as an impact as possible on her.

Never. Zero time. Our bed since day one. Still there and two. The new one will join us.

H e'er is two. He has never slept in a crib. Always in our bed. Our newborn will, too. We all prefer it this way.

Going to get a toddler bed and give new baby the crib. The new baby probably won't be in the crib until 5 monrhs, it will be in the pack and play in our room so dd will be close to 2 and a half when we get the toddler bed for her.
