Pumping colostrum before birth?

I've read a couple posts of ladies pumping colostrum before birth. Never heard of this before. If you do that, does milk come soon after or do you keep producing colostrum up until a day or so after birth? I'm a little confused. Any insight ladies?

Do not pump while pregnant as that can stimulate your nipples and make you go into labour early. And milk still won’t come in either way until baby is about 2/3 days old.

Don't do this. The hormonal changes of childbirth trigger the best colostrum production anyway. You won't get a "stash," and you may trigger early labor, with dangerously strong contractions and which can't be stopped because there's not a hormone to turn off (like if you got induced with pitocin).

I agree with the 1st comment. I've heard of this before too. I was under the impression that you get 1-2 days of colostrum after birth and that's it.

It won't speed up your milk coming in and is essentially pointless. I guess people just have nothing else to do at the end of their pregnancies.

You can pump while pregnant just wait until atleast 39 weeks
