Is pregnancy spotting real?

I had protected sex on my ovulation day. 10 days after i had brown spotting. But no period. And no red color. Am I experiencing pregnancy spotting? Is it true? I did miss my period.

I did have spotting before my missed period and before  I found out that I was pregnant with my son (now 3 months old!) The spotting can be caused from implantation of the egg into your uterus or just a break through period. When in doubt test after your expected period date

Not every woman has the same symptoms. I personally haven't known any women to spot during the early weeks of pregnancy, but that doesn't mean it couldn't happen.
