Did you ask to have your cervix checked

I’m going in for my 39 week appt on Monday. I never had my cervix check with my first even at 40 weeks. Did you ask to have it checked?

I think they started asking me at 37 weeks. I said no each time, mostly bc my son is breech so it really doesn’t matter.
Plus I know how badly it hurts esp if you’re not dilated at all!

Went in yesterday at 37+4 and they asked if I wanted it checked. 
I’m terrified of going into labor before the scheduled c section so I wanted some peace of mind.

I was 38 weeks 4 days at my appointment yesterday and my OB felt my belly and measured it and then said he didn’t think a cervix check was necessary because the baby is still high and not low into the pelvis (yay!). I was relieved, I really didn’t want a check anyways. My friend was dilated at 2 cm for two weeks before she went into labour. I think if knowing how dilated I am at this point will just make me anxious lol
The doctor can probably tell if they need to check or not just by feeling!

They checked mine at 37 n 6 they even asked of I want my membrane stripped but I said no I'll wait it out.

No, it’s not commonly offered here and I wouldn’t specifically ask for it unless starting induction processes, as it can introduce bacteria - and as others have mentioned, it can be uncomfortable. 
I’ve had two stretch and sweeps at 39+3 (fully closed, felt like a bad one night stand) 40 (didn’t tickle but wasn’t as bad, I had lost the plug but no dilation change through the week since the first one, so could have gone without the earlier anyway) and will have another one later today at 41. 
You can be fully closed and baby not engaged until labour starts, so fixating on a number for weeks in advance isn’t of any use anyway. Especially as it’s your second, you may find your baby just drops on in ready to go 😊

I wasn’t planning on it at all but I had my 39 week appointment yesterday and honestly I’m glad I did because I’m not even dilated lol.

Im 39 weeks tomorrow. He asks if I want mine checked. I’ve had him check ever since I started weekly appointments. I’m completely closed and not effaced at all..I didn’t find the cervix check painful at all. Just a bit uncomfortable. Hoping for some progress at my next appointment on Monday 🤞🏻

I only had mine checked due to early labor. If I didn’t have the issues I’ve had, I’d never ask lol
