Do you argue with your parents?

Tips on how to stop and ignore it when they say stuff to push your buttons.

If it’s via phone I hang up and turn on do not disturb
If it’s in person I leave to my own home
If I’m visiting them and I absolutely cannot get away from them, I simply say, “this back and forth does neither of us any good and it’s only creating negativity. Can we be adults now and stop”
If you’re a teenager, bite the bullet and take the annoyance for the moment as to not escalate the situation and when things have calmed down, ask to speak with them. Then tell them, “when you guys say ‘Blah blah blah’ it hurts my feelings and makes me feel *insert how you feel*” 
Good parents will hear you and understand there is something that needs to be fixed
Also maybe hear what they’re saying and ask yourself, “how am I contributing to this? Is there any truth to what’s being said”

The same way you stop it when you have an argument with anyone else. Have an adult conversation and find a compromise to resolve the problem. Just like you would with a SO.

My mom LIKES to start arguments because she thrives off the drama, as if she needs it to breathe, so I just glaze over it or change the subject as many times as I need to until she gets the hint. She gets mad but I really don’t care 🤷🏼‍♀️

I just ignore them if I don't agree with them.
I could argue with my dad till I'm blue in the face but if he thinks he's right then there's just no way of getting through to him.
I just say oh ok and let it drop. 
If it's about me doing something I don't want to do I'll say yea maybe, I'll have to see or I think I'm busy then I'll check and get back to you.

Honestly you just have to “yes them” to death.  (Not literally death that would be horrible, it’s just an expression my grandma uses lol) 
If they say something just say yes mom or yes dad and do it, then get back to what you were doing before.  Express you don’t agree with what they are saying, but do it calmly and collectively.  Even if they are screaming at the top of their lungs, speak your mind softly and without attitude.  It’s extremely hard to do but gets the job done.
