So my husband and I only want 1 child so I was asking my OB yesterday at my 28 week checkup (to her surprise) about what birth control I can take after baby is born that won’t effect my breastfeeding.

She told my the pill will effect milk production but there is another pill with less progesterone (if you miss one day with this one boom your pregnant)

She told me they recommended getting an IUD which I can get as soon as 8 weeks after delivery. I’m very apprehensive about getting and IUD because of the risk of it moving in on the Uterine wall (I know it’s low risk but that’s still a risk)

I’m only planning on breastfeeding for 1 year so I was thinking about and IUD or something for the first year then switching to the pill.

I’m curious about your experiences, recommendations and such...
