Madeleine McCann (no spoilers!!)

In honour of The Disappearance of Madeleine McCann being out on Netflix today, let’s talk about the parents

I’m not here to talk about who done it, we all know the parents killed her and covered it up

Background: the McCanns are upper middle class doctors. They are a white British nuclear family with three children, Madeleine as the oldest and two younger twins

They had left Madeleine, then 3, and the two twins in a room out of site whilst they had dinner. The doors were locked except for the patio door so they could check on them briefly every 20 minutes/half an hour

Question 1: if they had left their three kids unattended for hours on multiple occasions, why were they not changed with negligence?

Question 2: if they were of a different socioeconomic class or ethnic group, do you think the reaction from the authorities and the media would have been more negative?
