Is it safe to wear a 'maternity' belly bar during pregnancy?

I'm 19 weeks 2 days, and I asked my midwife if it was okay to wear a belly bar throughout my pregnancy. She said yes, but sometimes it sits uncomfortably if my little nugget starts wriggling around. It's not hard to sort out and it's not uncomfortable afterwards. I guess I'm just looking for advice/confirmation or something, if anyone could help?!
