Does BBT rise after ovulation or before?

I’m thought BBT rises and then after a number of days of a rising temp, that’s when you ovulate. 
For example in my case, my temp rises around day 7 or 8 of cycle and i ovulate around day 12. I take OPK tests which tell me also when I’ve ovulated.

Your temp rises AFTER ovulation. Before that you can have quite a bit of variability, but it will not be a sustained rise.
