Postpartum labor pain?!

It's happened for the second time now... I have this EXCRUCIATING spinal/back pain EXACTLY like labor, only it's in my mid back not lower.... I can also feel it in my ribs and my lungs and it hurts so bad I can't breathe or speak and I'm on the verge of vomiting. The first time I took medication, alkaseltzer and put heat on my back and fell asleep for hours... This time it woke me up and eventually lessened after back cracking, stretching and Advil..... Anyone ever get this?!

Hey, I suffered through multiple attacks before being diagnosed with gallstones and will need my gallbladder removed. If you have any pain around your bottom rib at the front right side I would contact your Dr. to discuss. Gallstones are very common after pregnancy. I am obviously not sure this is the case but, from where you describe the pain and the intensity it reminds me of the attacks I have. Honestly the pain was worse than my labour. Hope this helps and I feel for you.

When did you give birth. I'm nearly 3 weeks post and still get this. I was told it's from the muscles working so hard during labour and the body trying to adjust back after carrying a baby around for so long. Try some ibuprofen

I definitely had this pain. I didn’t have an epidural and had a really quick and intense labour/delivery. My whole back felt like I had an intense heavy workout for days after.
