Taking baby to a hospital to visit?

My fiance, (Riven's dad) just got admitted to the hospital for an ulcerative colitis flare up. Nothing contagious, it's very similar to chrones disease. But here is my issue. My son, Riven, is 7 weeks old and is my first baby. I want to take him to visit because my fiance is mess being away from us but hospitals are disgusting (I'm a CNA at the same hospital he got admitted to). I'm very well aware that its flu season, and that it's probably a bad idea, but I just want some input from some other moms.
