Heartbeat?

I’m 8 weeks today. I had an ultrasound one week ago and saw the HB. My next appointment is the first prenatal visit at 10 weeks. Will I hear the HB then?

Answer

Most likely, but it’s possible they still won’t be able to find it with the Doppler at that point. I’ve had that experience at or around 10 weeks in two different pregnancies, and in both cases the midwife grabbed an ultrasound machine just for quick reassurance so I wasn’t left hanging with not being able to find the heartbeat.
