Lost friendship and ring

When me and my SO got together over a year ago my best friend of 3 years didn't like him, not only that but it used to be just me and her and now I was spending a lot of my time with him. So our friendship ended on bad terms, I tried apologizing for stuff I had done like making her feel left out, but she had also done things and never apologized for them, so even when I asked if we could still be friends she said no. Now I'm moving out of my place and I found out I'm missing my ring that I was given on my 18th birthday, the last place I remember wearing it was at her place. The only problem is we haven't talked in over a year. The ring is very important to me but I don't know how to ask her if I had left it at her house by accident... My SO says I should call her but I was thinking of just a text. I really need advice on how to go about asking if it got lost at her place
