Birth control?

If I go to planned parenthood, will they give me birth control (pill) without my parents knowing? Or do I have to have their consent? I'm 17.

Yes they will. At least 10 years ago they did. And you can always call your local PP and ask them directly! They are there to help you so don't be afraid or embarrassed. They can also go over your other options as well.

Not unless you are your own legal guardian (I had my daughter at 15 so by 17 I was well and truly classed as a dependant by law) mainly because the pill can have so many side effects, some people believe they are cancer causing, as they ARE linked to a higher risk of reproductive cancer.. And they also change your brain stucture... Just stick to condoms if you really don't want your parents finding out, I don't know your situation so I won't breach communication with your parents being important.. But if you wanted it for a reason other than contraceptive, (some people use them for acne, etc) speak to your doctor about this.. They may be able to do something for you if your parents wouldn't understand/belive you, and they can't tell your parents..
