Babybay substitute (cosleeper

The doctor suggested I use this bed based on his personal experience (baby currently sleeps in something like a dockatot). I don’t want to get this particular brand because he might outgrow it soon so I’m thinking of getting a regular ikea bed and putting beside my bed. Has anyone used an ikea crib in this way. FYI babybay is about €200 and an ikea crib is about €100. Here’s what the babybay looks like and the ikea as a cosleeper
