Genetic testing - High AFP

Margaret • 31 years old, Married for 4 years (been together since 2002), first time mom-to-be due in Feb 2016.
Hi ladies...just needing some reassurance from mommy-to-be's that might have gone through what I'm going through now. 
My doctor just informed me that my AFP levels were a bit high; however the rest of the genetic screening results were normal. She said having a high AFP puts me at a higher risk of miscarriage before 6 months or a small baby ( I am 17wks 5days ). 
Any inputs? Thanks!
