Anyone have luck raising money for IVF?

I feel so ridiculous asking for money, but we cannot financially afford the burden of $20k plus for IVF. Has anyone successfully raised money for their IVF? GoFundMe? Scholarships and grants?

I could not justify putting up a GoFundMe for an optional treatment when there are people I personally know who have unfunded campaigns for cancer treatments, child expenses after a parent dies etc. 
I took out a personal loan and will just pay it like a car payment. It absolutely sucks because there is no guarantee IVF will work but I just couldn’t ask people for money when I personally felt their were others in more dire situations.

Maybe work a second job for awhile to save! Go apply at Starbucks their insurance pays for ivf.

Just worked like crazy and saved money here... But we surely didn’t spend that much money. There are clinics much cheaper in Texas thankfully.

Most people use credit cards and loans.    If you think your friends and family would give you could try to raise a little.

Cape Town, South Africa has an amazing clinic that I go to and i was quoted R60 000 a try for a standard IVF -that’s a bit over $4000 - look up Aevitas

I suggest just taking out a personal loan. I doubt you would raise anywhere near 20K especially when people see the reason for you starting the GoFundMe. I know becoming a mom is important for you but if I was you I wouldn’t ask for handouts.

$20k seems high. The pricing my doctor gave was $1,500 to 2k for IVF.

Gofundme? Absolutely not!!! Ivf is a voluntary and unnecessary procedure. Tacky. 
Interest free credit card and/or a loan. Look into compassionate care. Or just go old school and save money over time.

$20k wow that’s ridiculously high! It’s only about £6/7k (best clinic) to get private IVF in the UK. If I where you I would look into going abroad for treatment. As I know some places are like £3K with fantastic results.
