Been thinking about getting eyelash extensions. What's been your experience? Do they make your natural lashes fall out?

they don’t make your lashes fall out, just go to a reputable salon. they are kind of a pain in the butt with upkeep cause the start to fall out and it can look kinda silly lol. i personally prefer lash lifts, much less maintenance and beautiful results.

You definitely have to go to someone who knows what they’re doing otherwise they can make all your lashes fall out. Or worse, like someone using nail glue on them. I love them, but the upkeep is pricey.

Your natural lashes fall out anyways. You just notice them falling out when they’re really long. I got them once. They were cool. Hard to maintain.

I went to beauty school and learned to do my own. I don't do them in a way that ruins my natural lashes, but they don't last a long time either.
Depending in your lashes and the way you maintain the extensions they may break or pull out your natural lashes, but they are just hair. They will grow back.

They are expensive to get.. and expensive to keep up. Typically the initial appointment can cost anywhere from 200+ then refills are usually around $50-70, which need to be done every 2-3 weeks. Depending on the experience the person doing them has will typically make your lash outcome good or bad, I had a girlfriend of mine, do mine (4+ years ago, when I was still active as a stylist) and they looked great.. but I have rather thick and long lashes without them so, I really didn't need them and had zero desire to continue to do the upkeep with them, all the extensions had fallen out by around 5 weeks. If I were a normal person going in to the salon to have them done, I'd never spend $200+ and continue the upkeep because Id rather spend my money on other things.. but if that's what you're into, as a lot of the clients in our salon had money to burn then thats great otherwise, I'd do a hard pass on it and use my money elsewhere.. you could probably get them done for less at a beauty school in your area.. idk if they practice that in school though.. since when I was in school, lash extensions wasn't really a thing yet.
