California passed right to die legislation today. Thoughts? (I didn't mean to post this twice, by the way. Sorry about that!)

I wouldn't want to live either if I was on death bed..  It isn't right to hold on to someone while they are in pain..

My grandmother was in a nursing home.. She couldn't walk, she couldn't eat (she was fed through a tube), she laid in bed most of the time, she didnt speak, she couldn't remember anything most of the time, and she was clearly in pain. (She had diabetes.)

My mother had the choice to let her live or die.. I told my mother after 2 years of her in the nursing home to let her go.. It is selfish of us to hold on to her while she is in pain. After she passed away I was sad but glad at the same time. Glad, only because I knew she was not in pain anymore.

I live in Oregon and am very proud of our death with dignity law. I'm glad other places are following suit
