Taking clomid for the first time

So I am 24 and the doctor put me on clomid because I have been trying for 3 years to conceive with my husband(nothing worked) so finally he put me on these. I am taking 50mg days 5-9. Today is the day I am suppose to start taking them but I have siked myself out because I keep reading the side effects over and over again so now I am nervous to even take them. I just really need encouragement from those who have taken them and some advice so I can stop being a scaredy-cat.
