So frustrated and lost
You Mama's ever feel irritable after your toddler has had an especially awful morning?
My 21mo old threw an incredible tantrum this morning at the store, none the likes I've ever seen, he's normally such an incredibly well behaved child.
This unrecognizable child was screaming at the top of his lungs, crying, hitting, throwing himself on the floor and at one point tried to run out the front door of the store (I was 1 foot away from him and the door.)
He slapped me in the face and screamed when I crouched to his level and told him we don't run outside.
I have never been so frustrated. I put him in his car seat and sat in the car until he calmed down and we went home.
Now, he woke up halfway through his nap, obviously upset by something and it took him 30 minutes of cuddles and cooing to get him back to sleep.
I'm 4 months pregnant with number 2 and I feel so out of my league.
What do you do? How do you handle the tantrums? How do you handle a toddler and an infant? I feel so lost! I won't spank. We are trying the "I understand you're upset, but" sort of redirection up until this point.
If you've made it this far, thank you for reading.
