Short term disability for maternity leave

Hoping for some help on this.

I don’t get any paid maternity leave, but FMLA “protects” my job for me to be gone unpaid for 12 weeks.

I also have short term disability which will Pay 60% of my salary after the baby.

But I just found out that is only until the OB “releases” you back to work. My office said for a healthy normal delivery that is only 6 weeks.

My job also requires me to use ALL PTO before the short term will kick in.

So does short term stop paying at 6 weeks???

Has anyone had experience with this or any advice?
