Baby too big to have naturally?

Question

Has anyone else been told they must be induced because the doctors think they the baby will be too big to push or the mothers hips aren’t wide enough? If they go full term they’re have to have a c-section?

It’s a common reason given in hospitals with high c section rates. 
Guess what makes more money? It’s not natural birth! 
We’re designed to give birth; and majority of women can successfully birth a 10lb baby. 
C sections are three times the risk of a natural birth.

I do agree with the fact that hospitals sometimes push unnecessary c sections however sometimes they are necessary. 
When my sister gave birth to her first she was to small and her body kept pushing her baby back. She almost lost her baby and had to have a full unmedicated episiotomy and caused a lot of stress on her baby ( plus a long recovery for her.) Her baby was only a little over six pounds and she has always had wide hips.  This probably is not the right terminology but it was like her birthing canal was not wide enough for the baby even though she was fully dilated. Her second baby she popped out in 30 min because her body was widened! I also know another girl who was in labor for forever and ended up having an emergency csection because her baby was to big. 
I would get a second opinion and ask your doctor his/her exact reasons for not wanting you to have a natural birth.

I pushed out a 15 1/2 inch head despite only weighing 116lbs at the time I gave birth.  “Too big” is not a valid reason for a csection unless you’ve already been pushing for hours with no progress.
Also, they told me my one daughter would be 8.5-9.5 lbs...she was 6.5 lbs

I was induced with last baby at 38+weeks cos they said she was too big but when she was born she was one of my smallest babies and weighed 8lb 1oz so I don't no why they said that ..measurements must of been wrong even though they scanned me the day b4 I had my induction

A baby that is too big can be a valid concern in some cases. My mom’s best friend is a very tiny woman. Her baby was over 10 pounds and was just too big for her. Unfortunately he got stuck and her cervix closed in on him and he didn’t survive. She has had two children after that and both were delivered via c-section. Obviously that was a very rare occurrence, but enough to make me be completely okay with a c-section if that is what is needed. Totally just my thoughts for my own delivery though. 💜

I think that’s bogus. I pushed out an 8 pound 11 oz baby just fine (I know that’s not the biggest but still pretty big). I know many women who have given birth to 10 pound babies and some even up to 12 pounds!

I had a C-section but not because he was too big. My son decided to be a breach baby and we didn't find out until 39weeks (whole issue with the OB being more focused on her upcoming vacation than any patient). While having my c-section the doctor did make a comment that he would have been hard to birth because of how big he was and they had to make the incision larger to get him out.
