Can I get in the water ?

I’ve had my belly button pierced for five months and it looks Great but isn’t fully healed yet. I get infections really easily.  But I’m going to this salt water river (paddle boarding) next week and I was wondering what I should do about my belly button.  Should I cover it with a water proof bandaid or leave it uncovered and just clean it after ?

I would cover it with one of those big square waterproof bandaids and make sure it’s really secure

I'd just clean it afterwards.. but saltwater is good for piercings.. which is why they suggest using H2O ocean spray for piercings to help them in the process of healing.

I used to swim all the time (in lakes and pools) a few months after I got mine done and I always cleaned it right after getting out and mine never got infected. I also never covered it or anything while swimming.

I went swimming in a lake that day after I got mine pierced and it’s completely fine I’ve had it a year now so I think it really depends on your body
