Fertile and ovulation days!

For those of you who got pregnant - did you have sex every fertile day, ovulation day and the day after you ovulated? How often did you have sex? Is it okay to skip a fertile day? I got pregnant with my first the day after my period! I wasn't in my fertile window nor was I ovulating. Now I'm trying for baby #2 and it's so hard. I guess it happens when you don't think about it
