When are you announcing?

So in 2 hours I will be officially 12 weeks!!! I was gonna wait to announce at 14 weeks since I will be in the second trimester but I haven’t told anyone at work yet and I work in the medical and refuse to help lift heavy patients. My coworkers are asking me is it Bc I’m pregnant and I just don’t feel like lying about it. So My next OB appointment is in 2 days I think I want to announce to everyone then. What do you ladies think?

I am a nurse and just told my colleagues. Better to just be honest and the. They’re more helpful and understanding of restrictions with patient handling. I had a miscarriage last year and had told my colleagues too, they were super supportive in that respect too!

I told my Mom at 6w because I needed her help post dental implant removal. I told my immediate family at 9w because I was too excited, and I can’t keep my mouth shut 😂🤦🏻‍♀️. We told my husband’s family at 10w. Just told my boss at 11w. We’re telling grandparents this week at 12w. And we’ll post to the world either at 13 or 14 weeks. Not totally planned, it’s just kinda of a trickling announcement.

We announced to close friends and family at 8 weeks and then announced to everyone else (including work) at 9 weeks. It was super early but it was nice having work know and then being sympathetic of my symptoms. At this point they won’t even let me get up on the step stool at work or lift anything (I work in a hospital kitchen). If you feel ready, I’d announce after your appointment but it’s totally up to you and when you feel comfortable. I’m 12 weeks today so our due dates are only a day apart ❤️

I told most of my colleagues at 10 weeks due to nausea . I work in physical therapy and still Lifting patients

I'm so glad you posted this cuz I work as a nurse too. I didn't even think about moving patients, I was so focused on avoiding radiation and xrays! I like the honesty policy. Can't get what you need unless people know! Cheers mama :)

I have to announce it at my workplace soon because where I work required a lot of lifting which I can’t do anymore and they needs to know that so they can be understanding when I can’t help them lift something. That’d be after I let my family know then my workplace then friends later when I’m ready ☺️

I was going to announce publicly at 12 weeks like I did with my daughter. We had told close family and friends, wishing we had waited and not told anyone. It has been so painful to have to untell everyone. I just know next time around I won't be telling a soul except for my best friend and the daddy of course. Other than my boyfriend she is my main support person.
