Switch daycare?

Our pediatrician is concerned that our daycare does not require vaccinations for students or caregivers. I found one that does require them, but it is double the price ($210 vs $108 for 2 days a week). We have a measles outbreak in our area and our baby is too young for the measles vaccine (4months). Should we just pay the extra money to ensure our baby’s health? I’m pretty sure the answer is yes, but that cost is pretty hard to swallow.

Yes. The reason your current place is so cheap is because of things like not requiring vaccinations

If it was me, yes, absolutely. Especially if there’s been a breakout nearby. I don’t know if it’s allowed to ask if employees have their vaccines but I don’t think it would be right to ask students. I would do the extra cost just until your child has the chance to get the vaccine

I would keep looking around cause that is a mighty fee. I was paying $200 for the entire week, but there was no outbreaks in my area. The baby’s health obviously is most important. Sounds like the daycares are taking advantage of the outbreak. Such a shame. Idk, quite a pickle.

My child's health and safety is more important to me than saving a few dollars. So it sounds like your priorities are out of whack 🤷🏻‍♀️ I'd never in a million years put my daughter in a daycare or school that didn't require vaccinations. I'd never even consider it.
