Am I getting screwed?? Or is this normal for renting

So my boyfriend and I had 20 days to find a place because our roommates basically ditched us so we couldn’t be too picky, we found this place in an okay area completely updated new hardwoods cabinets fans paint, it was the first place we liked and since we were on a time crunch we got it. Well upon moving in the first time we go to take a shower, it leaks. Literally pouring water from crack between the base of the tub and the wall. So we basically had to shower at my parents for 5 days while they fixed it. THEN a few days after that all of a sudden all the outlets in the living room don’t work. We check the breaker everything is fine. We’ve called them every day for 4 days with no word on if someone is coming to fix that. Then our dishwasher stopped working so we called them and added that to the list. Still hasn’t been fixed. And now we realize when we go to use the oven that the oven looks okay but the pilot light doesn’t work and it has no temperature gauge. How do you cook something in an oven and not know what the temperature is?? So in the middle of all these repairs that need to be done we get ahold of the owner and explain that the oven technically is inoperable, and that we will pay for one and INSTALL IT OURSELVES and just leave it with the property, he just needs to takeit out of our rent. And he replied and said “so you basically want us to buy you a new oven, no.” Um no if we just “wanted a new oven” that’s one thing but this oven does not work! Does anyone have experience in this and can tell me what my rights are at this point? I am tempted to just say okay come store your busted oven somewhere, we will buy one and we are taking it with us and you can just keep a 1920’s oven with no pilot light or temp gauge in a nice renovated duplex with all new stainless shell appliances EXCEPT the oven. Makes no sense to me.
