When to start buying for baby stuff.

I’m 4months pregnant. What month do I need to start thinking about buying baby stuff. My husband is telling me to wait until we know the gender of the baby. Is he right ?!

Iv bought stuff every week. I'm so glad I did because iv been completely prepared for a while now and I havnt had to worry about what's left and stress before baby arrives. My bags have been packed for weeks as well. I only have 2 weeks till my due date. My friend done the opposite and her baby ended up being born at 30 weeks and she had close to nothing since she didn't expect to give birth so early.

Im 10 weeks now and already have a crib two pack and plays toys nursing pillows some bottles wipes dippers idk. I wanna be well prepared early so I don't have to worry about it later on. Just really wanna find out the gender already tbh

I’ve been buying clothes for a while but the rest my husband and I agreed not to buy anything until after the baby shower. Most people will get you everything you need and once the shower is over you can get what’s left that you’ll need! 🤷🏼‍♀️

We have to move before I have the monster, so we haven't bought anything yet. I'll be 16 weeks tomorrow. I think it can wait, though it might be easier to buy things gradually.

I waited until we knew the gender but after that, I would try to buy at least a pack of diapers or wipes each week. I started buying clothes pretty much the next day lol then we decided on how to decorate his room and would buy that stuff too. We tried to buy things each week so we didn’t spend all our money at once lol

I bought our travel system at 27 weeks and then everything else after baby shower at 34 weeks. I bought the travel system knowing that a car seat is absolutely necessary and didn't expect anyone to buy it for us (even though someone bought a different one a week after the shower). The rest I waited till after the shower to see what we got 🤷
