Finally just 10 more days till first appointment!

My first appointment is next Thursday at 9w1d. Even though I’m happy to be having a normal pregnancy that doesn’t require anything earlier, it still felt SO far away when I first set it up. I’m so glad it’s finally almost here and that I’ve made it this far.

I don’t know exactly what to expect at my first appointment since I’ve switched to a new midwives’ practice, but the paperwork I got said heartbeat confirmation either via Doppler or ultrasound, and since 9w is early for Doppler I assume I’ll have an ultrasound.

I’m feeling more confident with every passing day, but of course also still have lingering fear that I’ll learn something is wrong. My husband is going out of town for a few days the day after my first appointment, so it would be especially awful timing for bad news. But I’m mostly thinking positive and looking forward to seeing a sticky little bean with a good strong heartbeat!
