At least 3700 you could do it if you make less but if would be tight.  I paid 1200 for my place in LA (a tiny shit hole with cockroaches I will add)  and only made 2k a month.  I made it work but I struggled.  I wouldn't suggest paying more than 1/3 of your income for rent.  It sucks.

Probably 3-4K. Because of the utilities and depends on other expenses you have. (Car payment? Or even no payment but insurance And then that means gas so it adds up)

My mortgage is 1500 a month and I make almost 6k a month not including my spouse and live comfortably. So I guess it depends on how comfortably you can live.
