My mom made me think sex was a bad thing.

When I was in middle school I remember her not having a sex talk with me just her saying.

"Dont show others your body, your body is yours"

I was so grossed out by this statement I didnt even understand what it meant.

Then now at 17 still no sex talk. Just a couple weeks ago she said to me.

"Weve never talked about sex did they teach you in school? Did they teach about abstinence?"

I was completely shocked. She didnt ask if they taught about protection or birth control. She asked if they talked about not having sex. I obviously told her they dont teach abstinence abd she seemed deflated when i said that.

I hate that she has sheltered me so much.

This is why everything I know about sex I learned online and apps like this I can ask questions.

But for the longest time even now that im more comfortable with talking about sex (not with mom or family) I still get anxious about sex cuz I was never properly educated on female sexuality.

I will not make the same mistake with my children in the future.
