Potty Training?

Question

Is it possible to potty train a 1 year old?
My daughter just turned 1 years old less than a week ago. She got a training potty for her birthday. I took her diaper off this morning and let her run around in shorts all day. She has peed her shorts twice, and once on the floor. But as soon as I set her on her potty, she peed. I showed her how excited I was that she peepee’d in the potty. I have her a big hug and kiss and sang “peepee in the potty, peepee ixn the potty!”
And all day I have been showing her the potty and telling her to peepee in it. She has been watching me go to the restroom since she was able to crawl/walk. 
So I think she kinda gets the idea. But can’t really control her bladder yet. 
I don’t know. This is my first child and have no idea how to start potty training, or anything. My friend had her daughter potty trained by the time she was one, but her daughter was also walking by like 8 months. Mine has only been walking since she was about 11 months. 
Any tips?

I work in child care and the earliest I have help potty train is 17 months. Otherwise we are helping parents toilet train on average 2-3 year old. And sometimes older. 
It’s completely individual to the child. 
Though we consider Age we more focus on the developmental stage of each child (if they are ready).... 
And by saying that... if they aren’t ready for toilet training that does not mean they are behind! Every child progress in different areas at different times. Trying to force it to early can give a child a bad experience of it which will make the process much longer....and a lot more cleaning up for you. 
At work we look for signs.
Our first step in toilet training is getting them to tell us when they have done a poo, to grasp the concept of what is what and the awareness. Next is getting them to tell us when they are DOING a poo... and then when they need to. 
During this process some parents wish for us to put their underwear over top of their nappie to Model what we do. 
Once they have (somewhat of) an idea we use underwear and no nappie. 
We remind/ask those training every 30-60 minutes if they need to go to the toilet. If they say no at 30 minutes we make sure to take them to the toilet 15 minutes later.

It's definitely possible.  I don't know anyone personally that has though.  Most of my friends' kids trained at two and I didn't get potty training down myself until I was nearly three.   A lot depends on the child in my opinion.

I think it is. My great grandma always has said she started potty training each kid when they could walk or showed interest, and has had almost every child in her care potty trained by 18 months. My son is 16 months and he has a potty and he uses it a lot, but not all the time yet. I’m not really forcing it, he just wanted to start and so when he wants to use it he does. I’ll focus on getting him to use it more within the next couple months probably.

It’s not impossible but I think that’s a little young.  My mom always says that they should start once the child is interested. Since your kid is interested, I don’t think it’s a big deal but it might be a longer process. Just use positive reinforcement and be patient.
