PCOS?

Hi ladies,
I got off birth control in December because my husband and I were ready to try and get pregnant. Well, it’s March and I still haven’t gotten my period or positive ovulation surge. I went to the OBG today and she is running some blood tests, one of which is testing for PCOS. I’m curious to hear pregnancy stories for those of you who have PCOS. I’m 30 and overall healthy so I’m trying to stay positive!

I’ve pretty much known I had something “wrong” since I started menstruating. I’d go long stretches of time without a period and then when I did get one it was incredibly heavy. When I was young it didn’t bother me too much to bring it up with my mom as I was too embarrassed. I let my now husband and pretty much got right on birth control which regulated me and I’d get a “period” every month. Was on it for 7 years and then stopped it to try to conceive. Went a year without birth control and still not pregnant even though my periods were still normal just longer. Had an ultrasound done and there were cysts all over my ovaries. Blood work also confirmed. Started on Metformin to help but still nothing. Starting doing BBT and realized I wasn’t ovulating every month. Made appt with gynecologist and tried two rounds of Clomid that both failed. Was referred to specialist and did two rounds of injections and IUI. The second one worked. 
The best advice I have is to start temping. If you think something is up it will definitely tell you.

I have PCOS and have two healthy kids, ages 4 and 8. They were both conceived naturally, but it took us two years to get pregnant with our youngest. It’s not impossible for us, just way harder.
We are now ttc #3 and are month 7. Using Clomid this cycle to see if that helps. I hope you are successful quickly. Let me know if I can answer any questions for you. 😀
