Can't keep a conversation going

Ok so there's this guy who I've gone to school with for 3 years and i really like him but he doesn't even know my name. I'm the person whose good with just sitting together, not talking, and just doing our own things. As the title says I can't keep the conversation going but he's really talkative and I'm not. I want to get to know him more. Any advice?
