Speed limiters on cars

By 2022, all new cars will have speed limiters built in. It will become mandatory by law. This law applies to UK/EU countries, but for the sake of the discussion assume it applies to your country of residence.

The detectors will use information from ANPR cameras (Automatic Number Plate Recognition, used by the police and DVLA)

I’m personally in favour. I have been in a few accidents as a passenger and one as a driver and all but one involved the other party speeding. The fact that the driver can override the limiter if necessary is also reassuring.
