I am currently 12 weeks and 5 days (so plenty of time to think about this) but I wanted opinions. My first birth was fine but didn't go as planned. I didn't feel I got the support I needed. For my 2nd birth, I want to have a good friend present as well as my husband but worried that the grandmas will get upset they weren't asked. My mom came during my first labor and sat down and worked on her laptop. I had her kicked out after an hour lol

This friend of mine is like a 2nd mom to me and is going to be the godmother as well. She has given birth before and is a very loving and supportive person. I want to ask if anyone has had a positive experience with having a close female friend or relative present (aside from parents or doulas) and how did it benefit you?
