5 Month Milestones?

Hey everyone! My twin boys were born at 27.5 and are now 5 months old. I am curious how they are doing developmentally compared to babies their age since they were so preemie. They are able to roll over from tummy to back and are babbling and laughing but that's about it. Are any of your kiddos sitting up unassisted or crawling yet? Have your little ones "discovered" their hands? I'm just super curious if there is a big difference thank you!!

I learned not to ask how other babies are doing development wise cause it makes me worried when my son isn’t doing the same as others. I just enjoy what he can do cause I know he will catch up eventually. Your boys are precious just be patient if you do get worried, they will get there!!💙

All babies learn differently and at their own pace. My son is 5.5 months old: laughing, babbling, rolling over pro!, he tries to sit unassisted but not quite there yet, definitely discovered his hands, working on his feet now.

My little girl has mastered rolling from back to belly but will still get frustrated with belly to back. She's done it but it's no where near as frequent as back to belly. She can sit up unassisted but not for more than a minute. She definitely discovered her hands and feet. She loves talking and screaming. (not like she's upset, just screams to hear her voice.) She loves standing with assistance. No crawling but will push her feet and grasp something to try and move. She will look past me to see something else, usually her big brother or the tv.

Kids develop at different rates. My daughters doc says shes ahead of the curve developmentally even before you factor in that she was almost a month premature. Shes currently pulling on my fingers as I type to try and sit herself up. And pulling at the phone because she wants to see what I'm doing. She studies everything, can almost sit on her own. Rolls both ways. The only 6 month milestone they want her to reach that she hasnt is responding to her name because everyone calls her something different than her actual name.

Rolling wherever she wants to go, no crawling but multiple rolls back to back to get here places 😂

Definitely discovered her hands and everything goes in the mouth! Started watching our cat now who’s outside and talks like crazy and screams ! 5 months last Saturday (3/23)

My girl does some things but not others. She’s 5.5 months, born October 9. She rolls from tummy to back (sometimes gets stuck + angry) and can roll from back to tummy but only to her right lol never left. She smiles, and occasionally laughs but it’s kinda rare and I have to really work for them or else she laughs at random things when we least expect it. She grabs everything and puts in her mouth. She can’t sit unassisted and I feel like that’s a ways away yet. Eats pretty small amounts and still wakes up every 3 hrs at night.

My almost 6 month old is sitting unassisted but will not roll over either direction lol. All babies are going to develop at their own paces and milestones generally are more along the line measured from the due date not birth date. Your twins are adorable and doing perfectly 💕

My son has just turned 5 months, he’s rolling both ways- obsessed with his hands and trying to eat them or whatever is in them or whatever’s in front of him including my face when I try to kiss him, he’s crawling somewhat, he hasn’t mastered it but he can get from point a too point b with ease, he likes to be up on his elbows and knees and just rock back and forward. He plays with his feet and tries to eat them too but hasn’t figured out how, he’s just started on purées because I was sick of him screaming everytime I was trying to eat because he wanted some of what I had. Has zero interest in trying to sit though, he’s more interested in getting around rather than trying to sit up.

Never compare. We have 5 boys.  2 were 9 month old walkers. One was 10 month old walker and the other 11 months. Our littlest is 6 months old and rarely gets put down because he screams so he is held a lot. He doesn’t sit or really roll often. And definitely not crawling. Lol
