How to avoid pooping while giving birth??

Popping during pushing is a good sign. It means you are pushing in the right area. The doctor won't tell you it happened. Of course if your hubby is like mine he will still remind you six years later :)

There's no way to prevent it and I don't suggest an enema bc if the enema doesn't work fast enough or completely then you're going to spray your doctor and nurse which would be even more embarrassing

When I first went into labor with my daughter I stayed home until I knew it was full blown labor. I must have had 5 or more bowel movements before we left the house and then 2 more while in the hospital. Obviously it wasn't a full movement each time but I'm sure there wasn't much left in there for it to happen while pushing for baby. 
It was suggested to me to take colace every night before bed starting a week before my due date just to soften things up. Worst thing I was told was being constipated while in labor. I never asked the dr if I pooped during because it was kind of an embarrassing question and I didn't even think about it until I got home with her.
I plan to do the same with this one. I'm hoping it doesn't happen but I've pre warned my fiancé that it does happen. Secretly I think he's hoping it happens so he can poke fun later down the road. He has a sick sense of humor that way.

You won't even know if it happens. It happens so often, it doesn't phase your nurse, doctor or midwife.

They clean it up so fast you probably won't even know it happened. Don't fret about it.

Lol I had this same fear with my first pregnancy. I went in with an empty stomach and pushed for about 6 hours. It was friggin miserable but I didn't have a bowel movement so that was awesome.... but also wish I had eaten something because I was in the hospital without any food for about 36 hours. Everyone is different though and when it's all said and done you end up not really caring as long as that baby is out.

Let it happen. By that time it will be the last thing on your mind. If you do the nurses clear it away quickly, you wouldn't even know you've done it
