Suggestions?? (Cross posted) Medications and weight loss...
Odd situation, and long 🤦♀️😬, but maybe someone has some advice. I started this pregnancy at a lower end of the healthy weight scale and had gained 9 pounds. I’m 21 almost 22 weeks now and for the last 3-4 weeks I’ve been losing weight. In the last 2 alone I’ve lost 3 pounds, but thankfully at my anatomy scan the baby actually measured ahead.
Much of this weight issue is due to my medications for a stomach ulcer and esophagitis, and then there’s also the issue that because I have digestive issues eating is kind of a nightmare anyway, exasperated by the baby.
My medication has strict timing guidelines:
-Med 1 taken as soon as I wake up
-cannot eat or drink for an hour and then I take med 2
-cannot eat or drink for another hour so I end up having a late light breakfast and just waiting to eat an early lunch
-med 2 is taken again after lunch, must be 2-3 hours after so I cannot snack at all after lunch
-must wait another hour to two hours to eat dinner
-cannot snack at all after dinner because 2-3 hours after the meal I have to take med 2 again at bedtime to be able to sleep without getting sick
I wake up at 7am and I go to bed by 9pm. Logistically I can only eat breakfast after 9am, lunch right at 12, and dinner at about 5. Snacking is basically impossible with my medication rules and it’s really hard to eat a “good amount” during my meal times because I get full so fast and feel absolutely sick and uncomfortable. Some of that is the baby pushing up on what’s already damaged, so it’s getting worse as things progress, not better. I do a meal replacement shake at breakfast that helps but I can’t drink those at every meal. I’ve seen my GI doctor, but there’s nothing else we can do treatment wise aside from meds during the pregnancy. I have another endoscopy scheduled for after the baby is born. I’ve tried to get up to take med 1 before I actually wake up for the day to give myself an extra hour, but I end up screwing up my sleep instead and then I’m awake from 4am on so that’s unfortunately not helpful.
Any advice or tips is appreciated! 😭😭😭
