Iron low ?

Anyone else have such low iron that they put u on a super high mg of iron pills ? 30 weeks an they told me I need to start taking 65mg if iron a day till birth idk why but I feel like that is extremely high that’s not even including the iron in my prenatals

I’ve been on iron meds for about a month now. I hemorrhaged really bad with my first labor and almost didn’t make it. So not only am I taking iron, buttt I have to have a blood transfusion before I have my baby and then my doc mentioned giving me something as soon as he was born to help me clot really well. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Not looking forward to all of that!

Good luck with taking that much! I had to my first pregnancy and I can guarantee at my next appointment they are going to tell me I need to again and I’ll refuse. The constipation that comes from those iron pills is far worse then anything 🙈

At 38 weeks I was given iron tablets and have to take 3 times the amount what ever that is 🤷🏼‍♀️

My iron is at a 4 I’m 36 weeks so I go in weekly for iron transfusion they said pills won’t even help since it’s so low if your iron intake doesn’t improve you will prob need it too

Yeah my iron is super low due to me being obsessed with ICE! i’ve always ate it and never had problems until now lol. she said something about it being a 6.5 so i’m taking iron pills for it too! and she recommended Odwalla Superfood Juice to drink a day as well. 🙂

Mine is about the same and I’m 27 weeks pregnant. I was told to take it daily plus my prenatal til delivery.
