Overly annoyed
My mother is trying to take over my pregnancy and my baby shower and I'm so irritated that this is becoming unenjoyable. I have no say in anything. She constantly is asking about the sex of the baby which I don't know yet. Then when it comes to this baby shower she's like we're doing it my way .. It's turning into basically a wedding in which I can't invite the people I want to invite and this list of people invited has turned into basically only people she knows and then she's trying to cut my baby's fathers family out by saying "I don't want 100 people there" when her list (not including the 12 people who I'm inviting-- my friends) is like 85 people already only including 6 of my family members, knowing that his family is like tops 13 people..
Then she's arguing with me about table cloths and plates.. She wants actual linen table clothes and glass plates.. Then bitches at me when I told her to do it at whatever banquet hall..
She is NOT paying for this on her own. My baby's father and I are both contributing more than half so whatever she puts in is minimal.
I just wanted something with close family and friends, at a nice reasonably priced venue and have food catered. Something normal. I don't care about spending tons of money, just something that's enjoyable for me, my family and close friends. And she's over here trying to go above and beyond like she's planning a wedding with people I don't even know being invited.
I'm not trying to sound ungrateful because I'm not, I'm happy she wants a part in everything but I feel like she's trying to make a day about me and my baby about her and I don't think it's fair. I have literally no say 😐
