Also what’s the difference between both? Can you take it online? Where and how can you get the test?(I’m homeschooled)

Some schools nowadays don’t require the SAT or the ACT but it’s still good to take them. The new SAT is scored out of 1600 while the ACT is scored out of 36. Both tests are a few hours long, they have different sections for English (like reading and writing) and math, and science on the ACT. The essays I believe are optional, but again it’s good to do those too. You should be able to sign up online to take them at a nearby high school. You cannot take either of the actual tests online.

Best advice I can give you - figure out where you want to go to uni, and figure out what their specific requirements for acceptance are. Most will have recruiters or advisors that can work with you to get yourself into the best possible position for acceptance. 
No sense in prepping for a test you don’t need.

most colleges will ask for one of the tests, but they'll often accept either.
you have to pay for them and take them on certain days at a predetermined location, usually a high school that's nearby or something. both tests have a website that's pretty easy to google, so go check those out and see what's near you before you decide which one to do.
i took both, and i definitely did better on the ACT than the SAT, so if you have the means I'd encourage you to do both. hope this helps!
