Annoying neighbors

Christina • Blah!
This couple with Young child a little under a year constantly fights. Several of the other tenants have complained against them. This is becoming bad to the point where their constant fighting keeps us up at night, my daughter takes a very long time to go to sleep. The cops have been called several times and nothing has been done. The constant slamming of doors and fist fights in the hallway are becoming almost an hourly thing. The lanlord does absolutely  nothing. I feel the only way to escape this is to move. I don't think it's fair that I have to move from my place because nothing is being done. Several other tenants have moved because of this. Anyone know how I can avoid breaking my lease to move to get this matter resolved?

I think if the landlord does nothing to fix it then you can break lease because of the right of quiet enjoyment. But it really depends on your state laws.

I would call CPS.

If the landlord does nothing then that is grounds for you to break the lease early.

I would just keep calling the cops. Eventually they will do something. I feel bad for their child having to listen to that all the time! I hope things resolve soon!

The dad seems like a real piece of crap. He pushed the stroller at full speed down the hallway and almost crashed him into a wall. I was actually kind of relieved when one of the other neighbors called administration of children's services on them. I hear so many stories about the abuse going on
