What is happening??

Baby has been attached to my breasts for two hours now. She will eat, then fall asleep, then I put her down and she cries and roots as if she is hungry. So, I pick her up and try again. I am so exhausted.

She may be cluster feeding. There would be times even my daughter would eat what felt like every 30 minutes in a growing spurt. Plus in the beginning it was hard to know if she just wanted to be close or was actually hungry. You got this!

It got a lot better for me after weening her off the nipple shield (which was difficult to do). I think she got a better latch without it and got more milk more easily, so it kept her interest longer. She's 6 weeks old now and doing great with feeding.

My son did this, i was advised to try different positions. Also my son was getting pumped breastmilk from a bottle and my dr told me sometimes they get "lazy" and it's more work to nurse so they sometimes fall asleep during breastfeeding. Hope this was some help! I know it's a toygh thing to deal with

Each of these are cluster feeding periods. Changes on fussiness, sleep patterns, eating patterns are normal

Mine does the same!! Just like tonight! He starts to get mad because I’m not giving him enough because he has basically emptied them! I then make him a few ounces of formula to tide him over and it seems to help. ;)

Try stripping her down to a diaper so it’s a little chillier for her to keep awake
