When do you announce & why?

Just curious how many prefer to wait for the "safe zone" of 12 weeks & why? Personally I announce early, close family first & then others after. In my mind my pregnancy is a life to be celebrated no matter how long I hold that life in my womb or arms. I feel like waiting just in case something goes wrong is putting negative energy out or like I'm hiding something that should be shared regardless of the possible outcomes. But that's just me, I'm interested to see what you ladies think/ feel & why.

I’m going to wait until the 2nd trimester because I’ve had a miscarriage before and it’s not fun going back and telling everyone what happened.

I’m 8w4d and I’ve told my parents and a handful of close friends. I won’t announce more widely than that until sometime around 12 weeks.
I’ve had past miscarriages, and while I talk about them openly and don’t think they should be shrouded in secrecy, I want to be able to talk about them on my own terms, not because I’m being asked questions and put in an awkward and painful position by people who think I’m still pregnant.

We’ve told family and close friends but are waiting to tell the rest of our friends/social media till Mother’s Day, when I’ll be almost 13 weeks

I used to feel the same way until I had a miscarriage and had to go through telling everyone. And there were people that I hadn’t told yet and would ask me about the baby and honesty it was really hard to deal with.

I’m 8 + 6 weeks and have only told my dad (needed some info about my mum’s pregnancy complications and she’s dead). I think a few people suspect as I often run out of a room to vomit. 
I have struggled with fertility issues for years and am petrified that something will go wrong. I don’t want to do anything to jinx myself or upset the gods. I have had to tell people about an early loss in the past and it was awful. 
I don’t want people to get their hopes up (like mine are- I can’t stop thinking about my beautiful babe) and then have to deal with their grief if anything goes wrong. I just hope and plea with every god in the known universe that this little Bub with be born healthy and well in November.

I can’t keep a secret! We won’t announce on social media until 2nd, but most of our family and friends have known since we found out or shortly after.

I announced after my ultrasound and heard a strong HB. As my misscariges I never saw anything in the ultrasounds. Currently 8+3

With my first I knew no different and we told all family and friends but with that they all told all there family and friends i went for my 12wk scan and found out my baby had died at 9wks☹️ for months after that awful time I had people come up to me and touch my tummy and say wow u are hardly showing how far are you now I can assure u that is the most awful experience ever and heartbreaking ever time someone mentioned it was like going thru that day we were told baby had died all over again😥 if u have never experienced miscarriage then u are very lucky and of course would not understand I then went on to have 4 healthy pregnancies but only told my mum and my 2 sisters jst for the support it’s not putting a negative on it it’s protecting urself from heartbreak I have had another misscarrige in jan again absolutely heartbreaking I’m now 7wks pregnant and pray when I see people announce early as I would hate for anyone to go through what I did with my first☹️

We are waiting until our 2nd trimester to announce that we are pregnant because we have had prior miscarriages and its not fun explaining what had happened... We have only told close friends and close family members that if we were going to miscarry again would be the ones that we'd want to be there to help support us through it
